When It’s Over

December 26, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

No matter how much we simplify the holidays, there is always that “let down” once they are over, isn’t there? I mean New Year’s Eve is on the way but even that is a reminder of an ending…

Christmas Wishes From New Mexico

December 25, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

I woke to a beautiful white Christmas this morning (as I understand many of you did). I took a walk and wanted to share this Christmas experience with you. Wishing you all a very merry, peaceful, Christmas, filled with love and your own personal magic.

Christmas Eve in New Mexico

December 24, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

Christmas is not about hustle and bustle for me. I don’t have a list of things I must do. Instead I’m spending Christmas making Date Nut Bread and Sweet Cream Biscuits and Mincemeat Pie.

The Riches of the Poor

December 23, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

No matter our circumstance, we can create and be a part of beauty whenever we choose. Our hearts can be filled by the abundance of this life. And, when we can do that, it can be Christmas every day of the year.

Christmas in Santa Fe

December 21, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

Many of you don’t live in New Mexico and these kinds of sweet, little, adobe neighborhoods, and tiny, winding, streets, aren’t available to you. I hope these photos will give you a sense of Christmas in Santa Fe.

Wishing You a Simple Christmas Wrapped in Peace

December 20, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

A friend and I went to Taos the other night to take in The Lighting of Ledoux. Ledoux Street is one of the older areas of Taos, dotted with museums, galleries and artist’s studios, all open for the event.

A Christmas Wish

December 19, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

This poem, sent to me by a reader, offered me its fresh perspective. On the chance you, like me, have not yet put this thought into form, I’m passing the poem on to you.

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
