What If This Is It?

January 10, 2013 by Jeane George Weigel

… clothespins on a clothesline lit by the sun… the joy of feeding birds outside a window… giving an animal a warm home he can count on… the gentle quiet of a morning, a good book and a cup of coffee….

The Setting Sun in Truchas, New Mexico

January 9, 2013 by Jeane George Weigel

As I came home from a second walk with the dogs yesterday, it was as though I was walking into the sunset. First the shadows grew long and the landscape was washed with burnt sienna…

Come Walk With Me?

January 8, 2013 by Jeane George Weigel

It is silent beyond words. A raven flies above me and I HEAR its wings cutting through the sky, bringing an immediate and private smile to my lips.

Thinking of Meaning

January 7, 2013 by Jeane George Weigel

I am sitting staring at a computer screen trying to think of something meaningful to say. But all that comes to me are these photos …

The World Is Right

January 6, 2013 by Jeane George Weigel

… birds feed on freshly sewn seeds just outside the window, and the world is right, as I am left to read in the warm morning sun, for as long as I like.

Change, Lovely Change

January 5, 2013 by Jeane George Weigel

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
