God Speed Little Man

April 4, 2018 by Jeane George Weigel

Bubba is a sensitive soul who has worked hard to fit. He has risen above fear, confusion and loss in order to live a good life. I believe there just may be some lessons for all of us in that.

Simple Man

February 13, 2018 by Jeane George Weigel

“Take your time… Don’t live too fast, Troubles will come and they will pass… All that you need, is in your soul… Be a simple man. Be something you love and understand…”

“Knitting With Nature’s Gifts”

February 8, 2018 by Jeane George Weigel

Art. In all its forms, has the capacity to heal I continue to believe. Both by being in its presence and by making it. And all of us, as artists, must support the inspiration of others’ art whenever we can

Dick’s Day

January 22, 2018 by Jeane George Weigel

To those of you who don’t already know, the Olsen house is where Andrew Wyeth painted Christina’s World (among 300 other works he created at there)…

Monhegan: Getting There

October 7, 2017 by Jeane George Weigel

“A time to gain, a time to lose, A time to rend, a time to sew, A time for love, a time for hate, A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late.”

Monhegan

September 11, 2017 by Jeane George Weigel

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
