Apple, Rum and Raisin Bread and Butter Pudding

The bread turns into a kind of tender cake that sits in the midst of a creamy custard, while the apples and raisins somehow mix all through the whole dish offering sweet little surprises here and there. And the layer of bread on top turns into a crunchy, sweet crust that is making me weak in the knees just thinking about it.

Snow! More Snow!

I do know there is beauty wherever we are if we make ourselves available to it—in New York City, in Seattle, around a table where a meal is being shared… its everywhere.

It Was a Cold and Stormy…

I’m only telling you what you already know, I realize: that we are surrounded by beauty in all its forms every single day. I just like to write about it to remind each of us to stop for a few moments and take in the small pleasures…

Good Morning!

The storm has passed us by it seems, but it is still a very nippy morning. There’s a fire blazing in the wood stove and the kitchen is filled with the fragrance of pancakes on the griddle. It is truly a very, very good life!

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
