I was listening to music while I was painting and this song came on. I thought it was so filled with hope and wisdom that I wanted to share it with you

This poem speaks so beautifully of desire. Most of us in this blog community are living outside of bars, but not all of us are free. I hope we each find the courage within to open our hearts and our minds to the freedom that is ours, if only we will take it.

I have just met Kira Freed who found the blog online and wrote to me to tell me about her project: processartjournal.com. She is a huge proponent of “process art” a name I’ve not heard before but a concept I have lived and supported for the last 16 years.

I want to know if you are prepared to live in the world, with its harsh need to change you; If you can look back with firm eyes saying “this is where I stand.”

The great singer/songwriter, Joni Mitchell, writes about loving the other person’s calling as the natural order of things in her song, Urge For Going.

It’s been a ragged day, the kind we need from time to time to foster growth. And then I discovered this stunningly perfect poem. This time, I listen.
