I am forgoing our usual Wisdom Wednesday post to celebrate a rather large anniversary: High Road Artist’s 500th post. Wow! I have to say, that pretty much takes my breath away.

Bringing It All Together
I’ve shared Anna and Bill’s wonderful garden with you and three of Anna’s recipes and now I wanted to share the culmination of all of them with you: another splendid dinner at Anna and Bill’s.
Anna’s Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
Anna uses a Cuisinart ice cream maker. She stores its freezer container in the freezer at all times so it’s kept extremely cold and ready to use at a moment’s notice.
Old Fashioned Pepper Torte
Old Fashioned Polenta Pepper Torte… This is another of my recipes from the old days when I actually used to cook.
Evidence in the Refrigerator
After quick introductions she asked everybody to step into my kitchen. She opened the door to my refrigerator (clearly knowing in advance what she’d find there) and made a lesson out of its contents. It was pretty empty.
Ancestral Cherry Pie
Wild cherries were plentiful as pioneers pushed their way into the upper Midwest. The Indians had been using them for years, pounding them into the pemmican (a kind of meat cake). Then the settlers cross-bred the cherries with European varieties.
Absolutely the Very Best Barbequed Pork Ribs Ever
This is a recipe that my friend and gallery partner, Anna, made up herself. These ribs are absolutely the very best you’ll ever have, I promise, and I recommend them to you all.
