Adam’s Second Visit to Truchas, NM

March 29, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Adam Wimsatt yet, he is the techno brains behind the blog. Put simply, the blog wouldn’t exist without him. There’s no way I would ever know how to do what he does, period. End of story, quite literally.

A Favorite Poem From the Process Art Journal

March 28, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

I have just met Kira Freed who found the blog online and wrote to me to tell me about her project: processartjournal.com. She is a huge proponent of “process art” a name I’ve not heard before but a concept I have lived and supported for the last 16 years.

Judy Collins’s Green Chile Strata Recipe

March 26, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

I wanted to mark the opening of our gallery by taking a festive breakfast to share with Anna. It’s her day to work and I thought it should be special. This Green Chili Strata recipe, sent in by Judy Collins, was perfect for the occasion. Making it the night before made it so convenient. It’s simple and perfectly delicious! I recommend it to you all.

William deBuys Comes to the Truchas, NM Library

March 22, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

William deBuys came to the Truchas Library recently to read for us from two of his books. In fact deBuys lived in Truchas back in the early 70s and recalled tutoring local children in the very building that is now the library. Back then it was the school. Several old-timers greeted him and he remembered them by name. Very impressive.

Self Portrait: A Poem by David Whyte

March 21, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

I want to know if you are prepared to live in the world, with its harsh need to change you; If you can look back with firm eyes saying “this is where I stand.”

PupCycled, Clothing for Dogs: Finn’s Second Fitting

March 20, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

OK, my Finn had his SECOND fitting today for his custom coat that’s being made for him. Some people here in Truchas think that’s a bit excessive—that Finn might be going a little, well, Hollywood. But what’s a guy to do?

What Is Important in Life?

March 19, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

What would it mean if we had the courage to live life wholeheartedly? How many of us do, really, live full out, holding nothing back?

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
