Taking “The Walk” With William deBuys

What Do You Want From Life?

This life I’ve spent a lifetime carving out for myself is not for everybody. Each and every one of us has to suss out what works for us, what makes us happy. It takes trial and error, and it usually takes risk.

New Mexico Sunrise

As the house settled into itself, bathed in light and peace–I realized it was exactly the kind of morning I’d envisioned for myself all those years ago when I “left it all behind.” The kind of morning I wish for all of us.

Kim Moss’s Elegant Seafood Paella

Kim’s Paella was a hit. He says he’s still experimenting and learning about paella, but you couldn’t prove it by me. It was delicious.

Not So Small Pleasures

I was going to write a little bit about the small pleasures in life like a cup of coffee in the morning, but then I realized that my coffee isn’t a small pleasure at all. In fact it’s rather large.

The Beauty of the Earth–Ojo Sarco Pottery

“We both came to New Mexico because of it’s natural beauty and want to preserve that as much as possible. The natural environment is what inspires us in our lives and work so we try to be as conscientious about energy use as we can… ”

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
