By now most of you know I’ve been down with shingles for an extended period of time (see previous post An Antidote for Pain) which is limiting my life experiences dramatically. I’m not at the gallery, nor am I painting, although I’m staying up with the blog, while not always publishing on weekends. To put it mildly, I’ve felt a little house bound and boring.
However, of course, there is beauty offered to each and every one of us, every single day, no matter our circumstances, if we make ourselves available to it. I was powerfully reminded of that yesterday morning while out walking at sunrise. Take a look at what I experienced:
That’s standing at the head of my road. Didn’t even need to leave the house to enjoy this. It lit up all my rooms.
Then I headed out onto the land grant only to be met with this:
And then there was Finn (see previous post Rescue Dog: Meet Finn (Survivor)). He always runs far ahead of me, through some pastures, while Kelee takes up the rear (see previous post A Three Legged Man of the West). As I rounded the bend, this is what I saw: Finn sitting still, enjoying the sunrise, just as he had the rainbow earlier in the season (see previous post Why I Love My Country Life…):
I swear that dog appreciates beauty. Perhaps this comes from his previous life, neglected and chained up, nearly starved to death. And I’ve made a vow to myself. No matter how much I feel I’m struggling, no matter how discouraged I get, I’m taking a lesson from Finn. I will pause to take in the glory that is offered to me every single day if I will only make myself available to it.
Love to you all,
Jeane

Ahhhhhh Jeane, you are right, I too am sure that Finn is a deep soul of much appreciation in his furry animal outfit. We ARE all animals:)
We are wise to take the times that we are slowed to a walk to look around us and listen intently to what gifts are abundant in our new pace through each day:) I have been listening to my shoulders talking to me of my hearts compassion and willingness to carry others burdens…I have gotten many wonderful illuminated offerings of wisdom from those I meet in the journey to listen with a well tuned ear:)
The Qigong I have done in the past I now delve into again – I took time away from it when my shoulders started to talk with the pain of over flexibility and need for strengthening. As well I now go (in addition to acupuncture) to a craniosacral therapist who is very intuitive and has helped immensely with “unfreezing” my left shoulder. And of course I ENJOY every minute of the journey that unfolds:) I just love this stuff!!
I know you will find your way to the balance that is our most healing tool:)
XOXOX

Oh Grace, I didn’t know you were struggling with your shoulders. I know you are taking your body’s messages and I also know you will heal soon (and that every minute of that time is precious and appreciated).
I do know my body is asking me to come into balance and I’m listening.
Many blessings to you and lots of NM healing light coming your way.

Thank you for your kind words about the blog Georgia. It pleases me that you find it useful. Yes, Maureen has been writing to me about her experience and I am so grateful her symptoms resolved relatively quickly.

Hi Susan. Thank you so much for your encouragement. Throughout this ordeal I have kept those of you who are facing cancer in mind to help keep shingles in perspective. This is NOT cancer and I’ll be done with it soon. Bless you and may your journey bring you through this experience to a complete recovery.
I’m so happy you’re enjoying the blog and that you find it positive. Thanks for letting me know.
