Actually, the most earth-shattering thing about this pasta is that I MADE IT JUST FOR MYSELF OUT OF INGREDIENTS I HAD ON HAND. Some of you may not know what a huge deal that is, if you’ve only recently started reading the blog. The fact is, my kitchen and I have not been all that familiar or all that friendly in many, many years.
Flight of the Wild Turkey in Truchas, NM
There is a flock of wild turkeys that live out behind my house – about ten to fifteen birds I would say. I don’t know how many of you have ever experienced wild turkeys before but they are VERY big, heavy, lumbering birds. I particularly love the huge footprints they leave behind in the snow or mud – as big as my hands, I swear.
Spring Rains in Truchas, NM
Almost as suddenly as it appeared, winter seems to be leaving us pretty much over night. We’ve had 60 degree days, and now this week, 70 degrees. So our much-needed precipitation has turned from snow to rain.
Sunrises Over the Truchas Peaks, Part 1
Truchas Peaks, actually a series of three peaks to comprise what most of us think of as one mountain, stands 13,024 feet at its highest point, making it the second highest peak in New Mexico. A part of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Truchas Peaks majestically watches over my little village of Truchas.
Adam’s Second Visit to Truchas, NM
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Adam Wimsatt yet, he is the techno brains behind the blog. Put simply, the blog wouldn’t exist without him. There’s no way I would ever know how to do what he does, period. End of story, quite literally.
A Favorite Poem From the Process Art Journal
I have just met Kira Freed who found the blog online and wrote to me to tell me about her project: processartjournal.com. She is a huge proponent of “process art” a name I’ve not heard before but a concept I have lived and supported for the last 16 years.
Anna Karin Gallery, Truchas, NM, Opening for the Season
As I noted in yesterday’s post, the weather is stunningly beautiful up here on the mountain these days, so Anna and I are opening our Anna Karin Gallery, full time, for the season. By April 2nd we’ll be open 7 days a week from 10 to 4, unless it snows (we will only be closed one day between now and then, Sunday April 1). So come up and see us, won’t you?
