I have mentioned to you all many times before that Anna Karin is not only an amazing artist, but also a stunning gardener. Her garden is an extension of her art and is never a burden to her, but always a joy.

There is perhaps no state more closely identified with the art of its native people than New Mexico. Santa Fe and Taos are familiar arts destinations to most travelers but Albuquerque, the state’s largest city, also has a long and rich cultural history.
Birdie Roommates
I recently became aware of a bird’s nest on my western-facing portals–a very good, safe place for a nest. The parents have been busily working, first sitting on the eggs and now feeding their young. My friend, Kim, who knows a lot about birds, thought they were Flycatchers, so I looked them up and I believe he’s right.
Painting Continuing
I was able to spend some more time in the studio, although other life issues continue to pull at me. But I do see the time approaching when regular days in the studio will once again be a part of my life. Can’t wait!
A Very Mini Artist’s Colony in New Mexico
Kim told Bill and Margaret the other day that what we have, out on my land, is a “very mini artist’s colony,” and that is exactly it. Just the two of us in the midst of all this beauty and solitude, painting, writing, considering—shoring each other up when we need it and celebrating our successes when we have them.

How to Begin Painting Again
