CAKES, CAKES and More CAKES!

As you all might have guessed, CAKE was to be a big part of my mother’s 90th birthday celebration, and my niece, Amy, was in charge. And let me tell you, she was the right person for the job. Amy is a great cook and a talented baker.

Sumptuous Green Chili Stew Revisited

Awhile back I made Maggie Towne’s wonderful Green Chili Stew. While still quite delicious, I ended up making a rather significant substitution which changed the character of the dish. So I wanted to try it again using the canned hominy the recipe calls for.

Comforting Danish Meatloaf

This comforting Danish Meatloaf recipe comes to us from Lee Hynes. And don’t forget, the leftovers make terrific sandwiches. Just had one sitting in the gallery’s studio. I highly recommend you give this one a spin around your own kitchen.

Mind-Bendingly Easy Green Chili Stew Recipe

I was rather stunned when I actually sat down to make a grocery list for this easy green chili stew recipe sent in by Maggie Towne. It was missing some measurements and I hadn’t even noticed that! You all know what growth that is, right? I was so excited about making it that I didn’t even see some proportions were being left for me to decide!

Earth-Shattering Garlic Pasta Recipe

Actually, the most earth-shattering thing about this pasta is that I MADE IT JUST FOR MYSELF OUT OF INGREDIENTS I HAD ON HAND. Some of you may not know what a huge deal that is, if you’ve only recently started reading the blog. The fact is, my kitchen and I have not been all that familiar or all that friendly in many, many years.

I recommend it to you all.

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
