Who Am I?

I write about holding onto hope and belief; about taking the leap into darkness and having faith that something is there; about living our dreams, our truths…

Good Day Sunshine

I quite love the blurry photo I took this morning before sunrise when I went out to sow seeds for the birds. The warm light is shining from inside the house while the sun is casting a kind of twilight over the mountain…

Do What’s Easy

It is a simple and obvious thought really, but it bears repeating: DO WHAT IS EASY FOR YOU. Our culture tells us the opposite, that our work shouldn’t be easy that, in fact, it should be hard.

The day dawned gentle and bright here in Truchas and it was basically a typical morning except that I have a confession to make…

Taking it Slow in New Mexico

I think the universe wanted me to slow down, to see the beauty I’m enveloped within every day… to FEEL my muscles working, carrying me across fields of snow…

Why Does Love Matter?

I’m not so tough. I’m pretty sure most of you don’t think of me as tough anyway, but the fact is, I do.

What If This Is It?

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
