Here are eleven reasons why I love rescue dogs.

Making Pretty!

May 25, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

You know I couldn’t wait to show you our planters once we put in the flowers! We’ve held back the blue morning glories and the black eyed susans until we can be sure of no frost. But most of the rest are planted.

My Top Ten Favorite Quotes of All Time

Here is a list of my top ten favorite quotes of all time. Quotes from Leo Tolstoy, William Shakespeare, Mary Oliver, Marianne Williamson, and more…

Karen Cordova specializes in micaceous pottery which is indigenous to Taos and Picuris Pueblos. Her work is traditionally made, hand coiled and pit fired and built from clay gathered from historic clay pits where native peoples have gathered clay for hundreds of years.

How Many Artists Does it Take…

May 21, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

How many artists does it take to get a big old couch into an ancient adobe studio? Anna and I found this great old couch at Pieces in Taos (a fabulous thrift store) last month and put it on layaway. We were SO EXCITED to move it into the studio that’s attached to our gallery.

Mud Dog, It’s Inevitable

May 20, 2012 by Jeane George Weigel

Another sign of spring is when the farmers and ranchers up here on the mountain dig fresh trenches from the acequias to their various fields. Much as I often wish it was otherwise, Kelee adores few things more than to take a dip in the fresh, running water that courses through them.

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
