Steve Jobs Reflects on Life

Such a great thinker and visionary, Steve Jobs is lost to us now, except his words of wisdom live on. This is the Commencement address delivered by Steve Jobs.

More Small Pleasures: Life’s Miracle, Life’s Bounty

It’s fall up here on the mountain. The aspens have turned to gold and the cottonwoods are just beginning to take on their fall color. There’s a nip in the air some nights and in the early mornings too.

Yet More Small Pleasures

I have wanted a clothesline ever since I moved here. Sounds like a simple thing, right? Ah, to be able to hang my sheets out to dry in this lush mountain air!

Finding My Swans

I’ve been writing the blog for just over two-years now and it has taken me this long to find other blogs and bloggers who are like me.

What Matters in Life?

I am in some pain today and I’ll admit I am very, very done with the pain of shingles, but it is, apparently, not done with me yet.

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
