This past weekend marked the end of this year’s High Road Art Tour (see previous post The High Road Art Tour!). Anna and I figure we had around 1000 people through the gallery over the two weekends of the Tour. And not just “people”, wonderful people—people who “got” what we are doing—people who appreciated our art. These folks energized and inspired us, as we hope we did them.
We started that first day of the Tour in heady anticipation. Arlene came with bags of her family’s chili to sell. Her dad grows it, roasts it, removes the stems and seeds and grinds it. Terrific stuff!
Along with the many two-footed visitors, we were also graced by the presence of many four-footed friends (we are an animal-friendly gallery, of course).
Among them was a very special visitor: Peggy and Don Baucom’s beautiful Beau (he brought Don and Peggy along with him). Beau was a little puppy who nearly died my first spring here (see previous post Rescued Puppy, Beau, Lands the Good Life). You’d never guess it from the looks of him now!
There was so much great discussion and sharing of art. I wish you all could have been here. But you know me, I had you all in mind during the whole Tour and I snapped these pics so you could share a bit of the experience. Come along with me, will you?
Love to you all,
Jeane

Jeane,
WONDERFUL:) Thanks for bringing me along! The weather looked warm (I noticed some dressed in sleeveless garb) so the rain was not there for those last week end tours I take it.
So lovely!!
Now on to taking a small break? And then digging in for the coming winters work?
Thanks for sharing all your season with us here in Blog land.
Oh…I loved your long skirt and colorful top, very pretty!!
XOXO

Oh! I’m so happy you liked catching a bit of the Tour here in “Blog land”. Love it! It WAS warm. The first weekend we had a few gray skies, but it was still warm. The second weekend was between 75 and 85 degrees both days I would say.
Our season’s going to continue. We’re staying open full time at least through November. We may decide to cut back to 5 days a week in December. We’ll see. But, yes, the winter usually brings lots of painting time and I can’t imagine this one will be different.
So glad you joined us! Thanks!

I, too, thank you for opening the tour to all of us long-distance gallery hoppers. Everyone– including dogs in attendance–looks happy and inspired to be in such a special place, surrounded by spectacular art.

Thanks Kathy. So glad you did the Tour with us! It really was a remarkable ongoing gathering of people who love and support art (and artists). It is simply so affirming when people receive, on a deep level, what is is we do when we make our art. It takes all the angst and struggle and puts it in beautiful perspective.

I’m glad you feel the post represents a bit of the excitement. Thanks! And yes, may those potential sales all turn into the real thing for all of us!
