As I told you all in a previous post, Grocery Shopping Truchas, New Mexico Style, there are no grocery stores in Truchas. So I have to go to Santa Fe, Taos or Espanola to get groceries (except for the things I buy from my friends Julie and Shawn that they grow on their land—you KNOW a post about them is in the offing). So today was a Taos shopping day and I decided to let it be fun and nurturing, rather than the drag I usually create it to be.
Taking the High Road to Taos is very different from the route to Santa Fe. Rather than crossing the desert “badlands”, driving to Taos, an hour from Truchas, takes me down the mountain through many old, Spanish land grant villages. It is fertile and lush and shows the mark of history everywhere you look.
I knew you all would want to experience this different grocery shopping journey with me. Thanks to you, I am seeing it through new eyes. Thank you all!
Love to you all,
Jeane

Thank you, Russ, what a lovely compliment. That’s exactly what I’m endeavoring to do with the blog–to paint a portrait of the lives we live here on the High Road, one post at a time. So glad you’re along on the journey.
