As in most towns and villages of New Mexico, Truchas has its Fiesta. Loosely taken from the fiestas of Spain and Mexico, it is a big celebration—a party for the entire village.
My camera was giving me trouble so I didn’t get many of the shots I wanted, but these will give you an idea of some of the festivities.
After the parade, there was live music, dancing, and barbecue, but my dogs were calling me home. As I walked the boys out onto the land grant and the llano, I heard the celebration across the mountain, dancing in the night air, the music gathering with the stars.
Love to you all,
Jeane

Yes, it’s wonderful to be a part of something so rich in diversity–so old. Community and family are very important here, still. Neighbors still help neighbors. Simply lovely.
