Simply Love

Wisdom Wednesdays are usually quotes from others that I’ve found inspiring through the years. However, I just came across some writings of mine written in 1997 and in 1995 that I wanted to share. This is the fifth of those and the second that was written in 1995 before I hemorrhaged:

Simply Love

And in the end
it comes to this:
I love.
No questions, no confusion, no resolution,
simply love.

I don’t need to know why.
I need only
accept
the gift and
tuck it away in my heart
for all time.

I am richer for it
and blessed by it.
I am unwilling to judge it
for the sorrow
I’m feeling now
but instead celebrate it.

I will live well
with the deep satisfaction
of knowing
that I have loved
that I can love
that I do love
and thereby reap the bounty
my heart has willingly sowed.

So simple, yet so profound Jeane!  Like Emily Dickinson’s, “That love is all there is, is all we know of love.”, or John Lennon’s, “All we need is love.”  The simply truths are the greatest I think.  If all our decisions came from a point of love, the world would certainly be a better place.  …Kim

Thank you Kim. That certainly puts me in esteemed company! There is a line in the book Tuesdays With Morry that I’ve always held close: “Love wins. Love always wins.” Yes, indeed it does.

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
