Shine Your Light On Me

These are lyrics from a song by The Waifs, a band out of Australia. They’re a great group and I love this song.

sunrise
Lighthouse Man

Lighthouse tall and grand
standing on the cold headland
shine your light across the sea
for a wayward sailor girl like me

llano

Lighthouse man
guide this sailor back to land
steer my ship on through the storm
back to waters safe and calm

white dog

Sometimes I need a lighthouse for my own
because it gets so dark
I can’t see which way I’m going

Oh lighthouse man I’m all at sea
shine your little lighthouse light on me…

sunrise

Lighthouse man can’t help us all
some will set and some will fold
he’s gonna show you where the danger lies
but he can’t help it if you capsize
‘cuz he will light your way but that is all
steer your own ship back to shore.

Love to you all,
Jeane

Thanks for the link Grace. I didn’t even THINK about that! It is a great tune, isn’t it? I love dancing to it out on the land Grant.

It’s one of my favorites. I have an even “kickier” version. I’ve been known to really rock out in the wood with the coyotes and Kelee. Maybe we can get Finn to hold the camera for a change 🙂

Words well said of the lyrics in this song! I love them! We all get lost sometimes, feeling in the dark. Though we may get some help, we must ultimately find our own way back to grow from it. Thanks for the great post! Take care, Cin =)

I’m just in from the land grant, having walked Kelee in the sun. I was dancing to the Waifs the WHOLE way! Glad you liked the song. It’s one of my favorites.

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
