A Beautiful Day On the Llano

I just had the best day and wanted to share it with you. First, there was a gorgeous sunrise showing over the mountain and in the valley. How many of you dread your alarm clocks and wish for just a few more minutes’ sleep every morning? It was like that for me in my corporate life but, somehow, it’s changed and the rising sun usually wakes me. Few things are better.

The animal chores were done, as well as some things around the studio, not the least of which was preparing some canvases (I’ll share my process with you later on the blog), so I headed out with Kelee for an afternoon walk. The weather was so great and my ankle nearly healed (the boot “cast” will likely come off tomorrow) so we walked all the way out to Kelee’s old homestead to see the horses. That’s two miles, round trip, and I did it no problem! Yay!

We hadn’t been there since before my accident and the horses were really glad to see us, and we them. The little colt that was born in the spring is such a man now—huge! He’s almost as tall as Davida. I stayed and nuzzled and petted for quite awhile as Kelee made his working dog presence known and dipped in his home acequia. Who cares about a little ice?

I have been working on our lawsuit against our contractor for days on and off now…today is a focus day though and I am reminded by your walk to get some exercise myselft even though it feels like I dont have the time…THANK YOU for the reminder:) I remind myself of the gift of education, facts elaboration and practice of peace in times of unknown this lawsuit is for me…moment by moment.

    XOXOX

I was just wondering about all that the other day. I’m so sorry you’re in it but I’m very glad my cyber walk with Kelee reminds you to take the time and get out yourself. Yes, dear, practice peace. This too shall pass. XO J

Thanks Trish. Can you believe this December weather? The orthopedist says the boot has to stay on, but I can live without it some, for increasing stretches of time, and I can take it off to drive! So I can finally take myself to Taos and Santa Fe. That’s what I’ve been wishing for.

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
