The Kitchen Table

IMG_0693

Something as simple as a kitchen table…

IMG_0790

… when we pay attention…

IMG_0813

… over the course of hours, days, weeks, months…

IMG_0823

… when we look at it from a different angle…

IMG_0878

… when we focus on another part…

IMG_0792

… can express so much variation and beauty…

IMG_0831

…in our day to day lives…

IMG_0840

… as to inspire poetry…

IMG_0853

… or at the very least, appreciation and joy…

It’s a wonder, right there for the taking, every single day, whether it be a kitchen table, a studio, a pasture, neighboring horses, the snores of contented and safe animals, someone we love, a finished painting, a painting in progress, the sun rising, the sun setting…

It’s there for the taking every single day. Let’s…

Love to you all,

Jeane

Thank you, Hon. Imagine all that gratitude rising up in the world. It’s enough to give one hope, isn’t it?

I have to say this… your eye captivates me. Period, I love what you see Jeane. I love how you see! Your paintings, words. photos offer me visions from your side. It captivates me. As I began reading this blog, your photos rushed me to the bottom and I found I had missed much of what you had said. Whoops! And then I discovered that it read just perfectly well reading and scrolling from the bottom to the top! Oh, and by the way thanks for being you, friend.

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
