Christmas in Santa Fe

I had to go to my wonderful doctor in Santa Fe yesterday. He’s helping me so much with the pain of shingles that I’m forever grateful (see previous post An Antidote for Pain). He’s an MD/acupuncturist and he is both kind and brilliant. But first I took the dogs for a walk on the land grant in the fresh snow of the night before.

On every trip to Santa Fe I go by Downtown Subscription for coffee–either cappuccino or espresso. Both are exquisite there and consistent, which is so important. The cappuccino is like drinking warm, thick, liquid nuts. Simply scrumptious.

After coffee I took a stroll through the neighborhood and, although they hadn’t received as much snow as we had at 8500 feet, it was still very beautiful. And I realized many of you don’t live in New Mexico and these kinds of sweet, little, adobe neighborhoods, and tiny, winding, streets, aren’t available to you. So I took some photos. I hope they’ll give you a bit of the very special experience of Christmas in Santa Fe. Merry Christmas!

Photos are great. The digital camera is one of the truly great communication devices ever invented.

Enjoyed. Thanks for the tour. I have a house in SF, and I worry about it a little bit when I’m away, so I was sort of hoping you would post a picture of my house so I would know it’s there — LOL. I hope you’re feeling better. This makes me think I should get the shingles vaccine while I’m ahead.

I’m so happy you enjoyed the tour. Sorry I missed your house 🙂 Maybe next time? I’m thinking I’ll try going to a new neighborhood and shooting pics for more tours when I go down to SF to the doctor.

Yes, I think the vaccine is a good idea. I’m better but am still on pain meds and still in pain. Can’t WAIT to be free of this!

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
