Alison DiPietro is a reader, painter and nurse. She responded to my request for communication from you all with photos of her life. I LOVE that! Any of you who feel more inclined to tell parts of your stories with photographs, please follow Alison’s lead.
She lives in Springfield, Pennsylvania and really likes my sunset and sunrise photos. She has often commented on it being a challenge for her to get such shots because there is always so much “city” in the way. I think she handled it beautifully in this shot, don’t you?
Here are a couple of my favorites, shot over Baltimore Pike (this had me racing to Google to find out just exactly what Baltimore Pike was). According to Wikipedia: “The Baltimore Pike was an auto trail in the United States, connecting Baltimore, Maryland, with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.” Here are Alison’s depictions of the sky over The Pike:
Apparently Alison set out the day after that big storm which hit the east coast to take some photos for us. She traveled for several miles behind a school bus:
“… following the beautiful light in the sky beneath the clouds and trying to find a place to take the photos.” She ended up at the park by her house which is where she finally caught the light…
… and gave her dog, Dutch Master Hankinstein… (I LOVE this big lug!):
… a chance to play:
I’m thinking it’s a good thing he didn’t see THIS guy:
She shot these pics around her home:
And then her daughter grabbed this shot of Alison’s grand baby, Carmella, having fun with Alison’s husband, Rick:
I love how Alison creatively answered my call for communication from you all. I hope some of you will follow her example and send me your photos. And you writers out there, please write to me about your lives. Those of you who have questions for me, please send them my way.
Love to you all,
Jeane

Thank You Jeane! Been rushing around with work and birthday parties for My Grandbaby’s third birthday and also My son’s 24th! Just had a chance to find this!! By the way, mydead camera batteries have denied me beautiful ligh,t and cloud, shots this morning! and trees! Love when they are sillouetted against the sky like black lace or like cut paper art!
I did send you an email yesterday of some fog, and trees, and park, and graveyard shots that I was enjoying yesterday morning around 8AM. I have to tell you everytime I lift my head to see the sky , I am thinking of you!! I talk to myself– like today, and said, ‘ I missed it- no batteries- I will just have to enjoy the beauty, and let Jeane know, I saw the clouds capturing the sun this morning, and it was gorgeous!! 🙂

Oh, too bad about the batteries. My grandma used to say we needed to take mind pictures because we didn’t have cameras. I JUST had a chance to look at your photos you sent yesterday. BEAUTIFUL! I too love the winter silhouettes that trees make. Simply gorgeous!

thank You!! 🙂 I did manage to pick up some of the correct batteries today so I might catch a pretty glow or sunrise tomorrow! With my digital camera I find the lithium batteries work much longer! regular batteries run out in a matter of hours and it is sooo frustratic! with My canon film camera the battery lasts months!!

Ah yes that would be frustrating. I have a rechargeable, lithium battery in mine which I love.
