New NEIGH-bors

The four acres in front of my house recently sold to a nice young couple who are going to build there, probably next year. They’re already planting fruit trees (how lovely is that?) AND they’ve moved their two horses onto the land. A Palomino and a Pinto, Kim and I went over with some apples this morning to welcome them to the neighborhood. They are really feeling their oats, galloping and galloping around their new place—just to get a feel I’m thinking. Although they’re not the sort to share a cup of coffee, sitting around the wood stove, I can tell we’re going to be great friends. And you know I’ll be sending you pics as we get to know each other better.

Love to you all,
Jeane

We are becoming great friends. They trot over to the fence whenever Kim and I are taking our morning walk. They LOVE pears (and apples and carrots).

They are beautiful! What a gift of friendship for all. I can’t wait to see more of these two beauties and hopefully meet them in person one day soon. I hope they settle in happily and the boys accept them gracefully. Wishful thinking on that last point?

They really are beautiful and they have very sweet personalities. The palomino is very delicate and a bit shy, while the pinto is gregarious. He has an unusual muzzle that makes him quite cute.

The boys adjusted quickly and are taking these two in stride (whew!). I look forward to you meeting them in person.

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
