I wrote about small pleasures that really aren’t so small recently (see previous post Not So Small Pleasures) and I’m realizing how much my life is filled with them—not so small small pleasures that is: a morning’s walk on the land grant as the sun is rising, Finn spinning around the property like a joyful clown, cinnamon bread with my coffee, shooting photos of this life I’m privileged to live, an Airstream next to the house, and you—writing to you. These are not the huge events of a life and yet, when I string them together, I realize they are what make my life meaningful, these seemingly small moments.
The other day a reader of the blog came to the gallery for a visit. Sylvia Montesinos has been with our little community for about a year now and she’s journeyed to Truchas several times. On this day she made me quiche! And brought it in a beautiful picnic basket, still warm from the oven. We spent a part of an afternoon together talking about life and dreams and art and needs. Sharing a bit of our personal vulnerability. And there is nothing small about that.
Love to you all,
Jeane

What a beautiful quiche. Sylvia does everything so competently, climbing an earth mountain or a personal mountain, to preparing an excellent meal.

…to being a doctor and being present in her life. Yes, she’s wonderful in every regard.
