I’ve been writing over the last couple of days about the road trip to Valle Caldera that Kim Moss (see previous post A Very Mini Artist’s Colony in New Mexico) and I took recently. On the way out to the preserve we stopped in Los Alamos for lunch. Kim had been hearing for years about a little barbeque place that was supposed to be excellent, so we decided to try it. Not even knowing its name, we went by the Chamber of Commerce to inquire. Yep, they knew the place and were happy to give us its name and directions. So off to Bob’s Bodacious BBQ we went.
Kim and I both had the pork ribs. They were very good and the two BBQ sauces on the table were as well. Perhaps the only criticism is that it seemed the ribs might have benefited from a little more fat—a personal taste for sure, but I still recommend this place. In fact some folks will prefer the leaner ribs.
Owners Frank Good and Pam Hushman were both there working. Frank was in the kitchen cooking and Pam was taking orders. They’re very proud of their restaurant and they have a right to be. Not only was the food good, the service was fast and efficient as well.
If you decide to go, you’ll find it at 3801 Arkansas, Suite G (just up the hill at Arkansas and Diamond in the Hilltop Center). Phone: 505-662-4227. Lunch Monday through Friday 11AM – 2PM and dinner Monday through Friday 5PM – 8PM.
I’ve also recently heard about a BBQ place just outside of Dixon (see previous post Traveling the Low Road in Northern New Mexico) that has received accolades from some national publications. You know I’ll be getting there ASAP and, when I do, I’ll let you all know what I think.
Love to you all,
Jeane

Ahh It sounds divine!! And Kim looks ready to dive into his portions there with gusto (and patience with the photo op)!

Ah, you “got” that aspect of “patience” for the photo op that my friends are (almost) always willing to give me. I’m so grateful that, when they’ve had enough and they just can’t take it anymore, I really, really try to back off and give them a break for awhile. Can you imagine being in the day-to-day life of an active blogger? Yikes! I FEEL for them.
