Some of you may remember my big boy kitty, Bubba (see previous post Bubby’s Grand Adventure). He’s 25 pounds of pure love and a real character. I, of course, am accustomed to all of my animals’ peccadilloes, but Kim is not. So he notices what slips by me. One of these quirks is Bubba’s intense love of all things dairy—cheese in particular—Parmesan most specifically. Bubby is a very mild-mannered, undemanding cat by nature, asking for very little except some love now and again. But he has sharp Parmesan sensors.
Usually, when we are making dinner, Bubba takes up residence on top of my laptop (it’s warm, you know, and close by). But the minute, I mean the very INSTANT I open a tub of Parmesan, he is up and yowling—LOUDLY—making keen demands! Kim thinks this is so funny that he wants to video it for you all. We haven’t pulled that off yet. We’re usually too focused on getting dinner on the table and getting a dish of Parm to the insistent Bubba. But one of these days, you just never know. It really, truly is. I loved my life of complete solitude, too, but I’ll admit it’s very fun to have a buddy to share with–sort of doubles the fun.
