Most of you have been aware, through the blog’s facebook page, that the monsoons have arrived in Truchas! It is such a wonderful thing. Amazing what this high desert can do with a little water. The grasses are lush, the wild flowers proliferating. And the afternoons are consistently cooled by rumbling storms and rainclouds. Oh, heavenly days! In this land that is normally dry, we celebrate this season and revel in it when it actually comes (last year the monsoons passed us by). I have to smile because, growing up in the Northwest, where it rains 9 months out of the year, easily, we wish for the opposite: the end of rain. But here we do our rain dances and rejoice when our land is blessed with this most precious gift—kissed by the rain gods, awash in plenty.
Love to you all,
Jeane

I always loved the rain in Seattle and never minded the gray skies. We had a HUGE storm today with so much hail it stacked up like drifted snow. I’ll try to take some pics of the flowers–just for you Grace. They are sumptuous!
