Support for the Arts

Anna got a call the other day from Pam Jackson who lives in Albuquerque. She and her friend, Carla Sanchez, were coming to Truchas and Pam had something for Anna. Would Anna be around? Yes, indeed she would. So we both met Pam and Carla at the gallery and Carla handed over two very delicate and beautiful slips! For those who don’t know, Anna paints still lifes, often of old clothes. She particularly loves painting old slips. Carla had seen Anna’s work before and she wanted to make o gift of these two slips that she wore as a teenager—pale green and pale salmon—gorgeous.

So we spent part of the afternoon together before Pam and Carla had to head back down the mountain. Just goes to show there’s more than one way to support the arts, folks, and Carla came up with her own very special way.

Love to you all,
Jeane

About Me

About High Road Artist IMG 9461 150x150I am Jeane George Weigel, a working artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico, and I do not think you and I are so different.

Every single one of us longs to know what we ache for, to “follow our bliss” as Joseph Campbell famously put it. You may find yours as an artist, a writer, or a teacher. But I am convinced we all yearn to live what is in our hearts. Some of us spend a lifetime discovering what that is. Some never find it.

This blog is about a journey of self-discovery, yours and mine. I write about the experience of living an artist’s life and share musings and photos as this living experiment unfolds. It is my hope you’ll join in the conversation by writing to me about your lives and I dearly hope something, here, will inspire you.
