There are certain landmarks in my New Mexico life, landmarks from my walks through the land grant out to the llano, and those I see from my house and yard, that captivate me. It occurred to me recently that I am compelled to photograph them over and over again, throughout the different seasons, different times of day, different light and moods. Even when I try to resist, I still shoot them. I decided that these photographs of the same subject, shot at different times, offer an interesting “portrait” of change within a constant and I wanted to share them with you.
I begin this series with a copse of trees that was probably the first landmark of my New Mexico life.

Thanks Marilyn. I haven’t painted the trees, but many of my pieces have incorporated the various fences on my walk. Maybe I should do a post on fences. Hmmm…

Beautiful…I love the green view of it …especially now that we are in a dry spell and the grass is all going yellow (for a few weeks lol)
XOXO

Thank you Grace! Yes, the green is so different from the snow and buff colors of fall and winter. I love them all, but the glimpse of summer feels more like something we should really celebrate while it lasts (especially now that I have started putting in wood for winter).
