The Anna Karin Gallery

Some of you have written, recently, wondering about my association with the Anna Karin Gallery, so I wanted to clear up any confusion you might have. While I am represented by Hand Artes Gallery in Truchas, The Anna Karin Gallery is the joint project I do with my friend, Anna Karin. We consider this gallery to be “the home of High Road Artist” (that would be me).

This is the gallery I “sit” two days a week and I also show my work there. You will see a very different series of paintings at Hand Artes Gallery than what I show at Anna and my gallery, so it’s important that you visit both.

A little history: Anna Karin has had a gallery in Truchas for nearly 10 years (see previous post The Old Adobe Church, the Wolf and Survival). A few years back she invited me to join her as a partner in the gallery. We share a vision and we work extremely well together, so our partnership has thrived. Anna’s work is realistic, while mine is abstract—another way we compliment each other. Many visitors to our gallery comment on how well our paintings hang together. It’s true.

Anna’s life partner, Bill Loyd (see previous post The Farmer’s Mantra), is also active in our gallery. As many of you know he made our signs and our beautiful planters. Obviously, he’s a valuable part of what we are doing. We offer his bells for sale as well.

And we also show the photography of Craig Scogin (see previous post Not Really New, Not Really Mexico).

The four of us, Anna, Bill, Craig and I, all live in Truchas, so you will meet one of us whenever you stop by. Our gallery is open seven days a week, 10AM-5PM, from March through October. And, of course, we are open the two weekends of the High Road Art Tour. Anna and I are both in the gallery all four days of the Tour. Those dates this year are: September 22-23 and September 29 and 30. Call for hours during the winter.
