My dear, dear Finn went through a surgery yesterday so I wanted to re-post the original piece about him that was published on April 11, 2011 just after he came to live with me. The vet found a 22 caliber bullet lodged in his shoulder.
Bubba is a sensitive soul who has worked hard to fit. He has risen above fear, confusion and loss in order to live a good life. I believe there just may be some lessons for all of us in that.

Suddenly Finn barked and tore off toward the land grant. Kelee answered his bark with a loud one of his own from inside the house.
Bubby is a very mild-mannered, undemanding cat by nature, asking for very little except a little love now and again. But he has sharp Parmesan sensors.
Most of you know I’m the proud mama of quite a brood: 8 rescue animals—3 big dogs and 5 cats. Every single one of them has issues—different issues—that make caring for them an amazing dance that I’ve learned how to do over time.
