We’re working artists so we’re actually fairly accustomed to seeing our visions come into being, but there is still something so satisfying about watching this one become. We THOUGHT the wall color was good, we HOPED the floor color wasn’t too light, we felt the rooms held promise, and here it is: belief rewarded, promise shown real. Wow. It’s just very, very cool. I’m tempted to pull out those beginning photos and attach them here, but we can all look back, can’t we? Because it’s documented, this birthing.
Our friend, Vera, joined us on a break from teaching for two solid days, and her presence was so great. She didn’t just bring her muscle, she brought positive energy–light. She was an infusion of faith that I think we all needed without knowing we did. But she brought the gift of her to our project and it blossomed.
Aside from that little incident of forcing the huge table out the front door, intending to move it into the studio (oh, yeah, I haven’t told you: this space is so generous there is even a private room to use as a studio!), but being WAY too huge to fit through that door, and having to take the doors off the landlord’s storage space to fit it in there, everything unfolded swimmingly. In fact, we’re getting amazingly close to being done.
Of course there’s still lots to do–finish the floor, deal with the two-ton safe that must stay, paint the baseboard, handle some wiring/lighting issues, paint the two front doors, CLEAN the place, dig out the yard and parking areas, hang signs, paint more signs, get the couch through that same small door, buy and plant flowers, hang curtains and light fixtures, get Bill’s bells in there–but you know, little stuff. We definitely see light at the end of this big long tunnel! THEN we get to hang our work. Whew! Did you think we’d ever get there? Well, we’re very, very close folks, so stay tuned.
Love to you all,
Jeane, Anna, Bill, Craig and Vera
