Everything seems to be happening at once these days and I am just so grateful there are several of us managing this project: the creation of our new gallery. I’m very thankful my friends are so talented and multi-faceted.
And Anna and I spent the last two days painting the sign to hang from his bracket (margaritas yesterday and coffee this morning). We were supported by the incomparable setting of Anna and Bill’s garden as well several furry friends. Lila hung around long enough to be photographed, while Pawney, Kita and Rastmus ranged around us.
And Craig (see previous posts Not Really New… Not Really Mexico, Craig Scogin on What Is Art? and Craig Scogin on Why Art Is Important) got to work vacuuming the ceiling, taping off the vigas and primer-ing the plaster. YES! The plastering is finally done and dry so we can really roll up our sleeves and get moving. I joined him for some continued cleaning later in the day.
Tomorrow morning we meet early, four of us, to further primer, paint and clean. I’m trying really hard to see what we’ve accomplished, not what’s left to do. So I just took a batch of muffins out of the oven to share with good friends in the morning, doing an honest job together, while supporting dreams of a good season. Does life really get any better than this? Maybe… when we’re all done, sitting in our beautiful finished space, toasting ourselves with margaritas. Until then…
Love to you all,
Jeane. Anna, Bill and Craig
