Everything’s New Again : A Visit to the Hand Artes Gallery

Anna and I have been trying to get into Santa Fe to visit galleries but we haven’t been able to pull it off yet–coming soon, I promise. But I happened into Hand Artes Gallery here in Truchas (see previous post Disparate Pieces) this afternoon and thought to myself, why go all the way to Santa Fe? Look at the diverse and beautiful art we have right here.

As most of you know, Bill and Margaret Franke, who own Hand Artes Gallery, are back in the village after a winter away, and Bill is actively pursuing his art form: creating the gallery as an installation. I swear, every day I walk in there he’s changed whole rooms (with the help, many days, of Brian Flowers–see previous post Art For the Village). It’s wonderful and refreshing to see. Of course many of us artists are bringing in newly completed pieces, which gives Bill plenty to work with. I’ve delivered fourteen new pieces, but who’s counting?

So come take a stroll with me through Bill’s creation, on the blog for now. One day you must come see this magnificent gallery with your own eyes. It is very much worth the trip.

Love to you all,
Jeane
