The whole state of New Mexico was under a winter storm warning last week. Temps dropped, winds picked up and sunny morning skies turned grey as I watched the storm’s approach from the southwest.
Kelee and I made quick work of topping up the inside woodbin in advance of the snow.
It was moving slowly, but definitely coming in.
The animals had the right idea.
I baked cookies as the storm arrived.
And then headed into the studio to paint.
As the snow really started to come down, I made dinner for friends.
And went to bed after a fun night, snug in my strong, well-built house, despite the minus degree temperatures, surrounded by my animals and grateful for the precipitation that is needed for a good spring and summer.
This is what I woke to. It’s -20 degrees and STILL SNOWING!
